A video of a truck spinning due to a violent tornado in Texas on Monday has gone viral on the internet.

Captured by an onlooker, the video displays a red truck rotating on its side due to strong tornado winds, only to be miraculously tossed right back on its wheels. The video concludes with the vehicle speeding away, unscathed.

The driver of the vehicle is Riley Leon, a 16-year-old from Texas. Elucidating his terrifying experience, Leon told Fox 7, “Seeing the videos, I’m like ‘that’s me and I could’ve probably not been here’. But thank god I am.”

Dazed and confused by what had just happened, Leon told the channel that he was clueless about what to do- “to grab onto the steering wheel or to start praying”.

“On the video, it looks like I drove off but in reality I didn’t. I landed in the center of the road and I was just driving to get off the road,” he added.

Leon was on his way back home from a job interview at Whataburger when the incident occurred. The 16-year-old is now getting a new vehicle, thanks to his insurance company that took away the truck after the incident.

According to a report by NBC, Bruce Lowrie Chevrolet, a local car dealership in Fort Worth, declared that it will offer Leon a 2022 Red Chevy Silverado as a replacement of the tornado-stricken truck.

The video, captured by storm chaser and aerial videographer Brian Emfinger, has garnered over 6.8 million views and more than 3,000 comments since its upload.

“Omg… just going thru my video. This is a story about a red truck and a tornado…. I CANNOT believe they drove away like that,” Emfinger wrote in the caption.

One Twitter user asked, “Honest question.  Why would anyone drive in this weather?  Why wouldn’t you just stay wherever you were until the storm passed?”

Another user added, “Well, we are very used to tornadoes in Texas. Truly, this is an amazing video. Thank goodness the driver is okay.”
