NFL legend Tom Brady, who recently retired from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, flew across the Atlantic Ocean to watch football legend Cristiano Ronaldo face off against Harry Kane as Manchester United hosted Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

The 44-year-old was pumped up about the game and posted an excited tweet shortly after kick-off, saying, “Here we go! @Cristiano vs. @HKane. I might fist pump if you score Harry but I’m riding with @ManUtd today.”

Brady’s decision to go with Manchester United today turned out to be the right one as Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring in spectacular fashion by hitting a vintage long shot into the top left corner of the Spurs goal.

The NFL legend also got to see Harry Kane, a self-confessed Brady fan, score as the England striker curled a penalty into the left bottom corner after Spurs were awarded a spot-kick for an Alex Telles handball.

However, it was Ronaldo who stole the show as he netted minutes later from a Jadon Sancho cross to re-establish United’s lead over their fourth place competitors.

Much more drama awaited the legendary quarterback in the second half as Harry Maguire brought Spurs back into the game through an atrocious own goal.

Yet, Ronaldo came to United’s rescue again as he headed home from a 82nd minute corner to seal his hattrick and the three points for United. Brady, no stranger to making history himself, was seen applauding from his VIP seat as the 37-year-old striker made history.

Ronaldo’s hattrick on Saturday was the 59th of his career and took his career goal tally to 807, the highest by any player in top flight football history.

After the match, Brady made his way down to the Old Trafford turf and was pictured chatting and catching up Ronaldo on a historic day for the 37-year-old striker.

Brady also went on to share a post by Ronaldo after the match to mark the occasion of his 807th goal.
