Andre Russell is a Jamaican professional cricketer who plays for the West Indies. He represents Jamaica in domestic cricket as an all-rounder. He was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for the IPL 2022 season.

Andre Dwayne Russell was born in Kingston, Jamaica, on April 29, 1988. Russell played for Barnards Green Cricket Club in Worcestershire, England, in 2010, and helped them to enter the Worcestershire Cricket League and the Birmingham League.

He made his one-day international (ODI) debut against Ireland in the 2011 Cricket World Cup at Mohali. Following a poor home series against Pakistan, he made a name for himself in the ODI series against India.

In September 2013, Russell became the first bowler in T20 cricket history to take four wickets in consecutive deliveries in a match against India A.

Russell scored a century in a record 40 balls in the 2018 Caribbean Premier League and also took a hat-trick, becoming only the second player to take a hat-trick and score a century in the same T20 match.

Russell scored his first T20I half-century in July 2021, during the first T20I against Australia. He scored 51 off 28 balls to help the West Indies reach 145 before being bowled out by Josh Hazlewood.

He was purchased by  Delhi Daredevils for $450,000 during the 2012 Indian Premier League Players Auction. Russell was acquired by  Kolkata Knight Riders prior to the 2014 season and has been regarded as a key batsman for the team.

He finished the tournament as the highest run-scorer and wicket-taker for his team, as well as the third-highest run-scorer in the tournament. He hit 52 sixes in the tournament, second only to Chris Gayle in any single season of the IPL. He was retained by  Kolkata Knight Riders for Rs.12 crore for the IPL season of 2022.
