Fox News journalist Benjamin Hall was seriously injured while gathering news near Ukraine’s capital Kyiv on Monday.

Confirming the news,  Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said in a statement, “Earlier today, our correspondent Benjamin Hall was injured while newsgathering outside of Kyiv in Ukraine.”

“We have a minimal level of details right now, but Ben is hospitalized and our teams on the ground are working to gather additional information as the situation quickly unfolds.” 

Talking about the incident on air, television host John Roberts said, “This is news that we hate to pass along to you, but it sometimes happens in the middle of a conflict.”

The network had “very few details,” she said, adding that teams on the ground were “working to gather more information.”

“The safety of our Fox team is of the utmost importance and our highest priority. More on this as we get it,” Roberts said.

Who is Benjamin Hall?

Born on July 23, 1982, Benjamin Hall studied at Duke University in North Carolina. He got his Bachelor’s degree from London’s Richmond American University. He went on to earn a post-graduate diploma in television journalism from the University of the Arts.

After finishing his studies, Hall freelanced for a couple of media houses. He joined Fox News in 2015 and is currently serving as Fox’s State Department correspondent.

Hall “has covered elections in numerous countries, interviewed presidents, prime ministers, foreign ministers, US commanders, ISIS prisoners, and survivors of the genocide against Uighurs in China,” the FOX website stated. 

Hall is married to Alicia Meller. The couple has three children. Their daughter Grace Hal was born on September 3, 2019.
