At the Epsom Derby, Desert Crown was trailing Changingoftheguard for most of the race. He took the lead in the final stretch.
His jockey, Richard Kingscote, said that Desert Crown has got a lot of class.

“When I was a kid I was useless [as a jockey] and I’ve had a lot of support from this gentleman [Michael Stoute] here. [Desert Crown has] got a huge amount of glass, we turned in going well and was so lovely. I [even] took a tug in the straight, he’s got a lot of class and gave me a lot of confidence. But it’s all about the man who trained him," Kingscote said after the race.

Three-year-old Desert Crown was foaled on March 9, 2019. He is owned by a Saeed Suhail.
The colt has participated in two races, one in Nottingham last year and in the Epsom Derby, and won both of them. He was one of the favourites in the race on Saturday. bet65 rated him 5/2, Betfred 9/4 and Betvictor 5/2.
