Kyler Gordon is an American football cornerback, who will play for the Chicago Bears in the National Football League (NFL). He was drafted in the second round of the NFL draft by the Bears as the 39th overall pick.

Gordon was born on December 17th, 1999 in Mukilteo, Washington before moving to Everett, Washington where he did his schooling at the Archbishop Murphy high school. He then moved on to the University of Washington to play his college football for the Washington Huskies. He was redshirted in 2018- his freshman year, due to the abundance of talent at the Huskies, but played four games as a reserve, making two tackles.

Despite being stuck behind all of that talent in the Huskies secondary, Gordon earned an honourable mention All-Pac-12 honours in each of his next two seasons there. In his first season in 2019, he played 13 times (4 starts) making 32 tackles and four pass breakups. And in 2020, he played in all 4 games (1 start) making 18 tackles and one pass breakup.  The Pac-12 coaches voted Gordon as a first-team All-Pac-12 defender in 2021- his first season as a full-time starter, where he made 46 tackles, two for loss, two interceptions, and a team-high seven pass breakups in his 12 starts. He declared for the 2022 NFL Draft on 5th January 2022 and the Chicago Bears have snapped him up.

Gordon is said to possess an elite, high-performance engine as well as a graceful fluidity that is accentuated by the harmony between hips and feet that ensures he can be decisive and explosive in his movements, and he’s a keen playmaker as well. He does need to develop his instincts in the game as well as the technical aspects of his position. With some more experience, the ridiculously athletic cornerback can have a strong career in the NFL.
