The BCCI announced the squads for the Women’s T20 Challenge. Dashing India opener Smriti Mandhana will lead the Trailblazers, Harmanpreet Kaur will be at the helm of Supernovas and Deepti Sharma with Velocity. 

The T20 tournament will begin on May 23 and the final will take place on May 28. All matches will take place in Pune’s MCA Stadium.

“The best of Indian women’s cricket will combine with some of the leading stars from South Africa, England, West Indies and Australia. A total of twelve international players will compete in this year’s Women’s T20 Challenge,” the BCCI said in its press release. 

Alana King, Sophie Ecclestone, Suné Luus, Deandra Dottin (for the Supernovas), Hayley Matthews, Salma Khatun, Sharmin Akter, Sophia Brown (for the Trailblazers), Kathryn Cross, Ayabonga Khaka, Kathryn Cross, Laura Wolvaardt, Natthakan Chantham (for the Velocity) are the overseas players participating in the tournament.

Trailblazers and Supernovas will open the tournament on May 23. On May 24, Harmanpreet Kaur’s side will take on Velocity. On May 26, Velocity will take on Trailblazers.
