“We’ll be facing some familiar faces in our clash tonight,” RCB tweeted along with a picture of Chahal and former opener Devudutt Paddikal. The latter was a part of the Bangalore camp from 2019 to 2021. Navdeep Saini is one more ex-RCB star who joined the Rajasthan Royals in the 2022 season.

Chahal is still the highest wicket-taker for the Royal Challengers Bangalore. In 113 matches for the sise he dismissed 139 batsmen under the leadership of Virat Kohli. He was, however, not retained by the 2016 finalists and then picked by the Rajasthan Royals for Rs 6.5 crore in the mega-auction.

Ahead of the clash between Chahal and his former side, former Indian cricketer Wasim Jaffer came up with a Mahabharata analogy. He referred to the leg-spinner as Arjuna and RCB as Bhishma Pitamah. The former betrayed his grandfather in the battle.

Yuzvedra Chahal is Rajasthan Royals’ highest wicket taker this season. He has picked five wickets in two games and would want to emulate his form against the Royal Challenger Bangalore. Devdutt Padikkal, on the other hand, played a useful knock of 41 runs against Sunrisers Hyderabad in RR’s opening game of the tournament.
