Former ’16 and Pregnant’ star Lori Wickelhaus has been sentenced to six years imprisonment for allegedly possessing child pornography. The 29-year-old was sentenced after she pleaded guilty to 20 counts of child pornography charges.

Wickelhaus, who appeared on the second season of ’16 & Pregnant’ in 2010, was taken into custody in 2020 after investigators received a tip-off from the Kentucky State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force that an “unknown subject uploaded images that depict child pornography to a dropbox account.”

The investigators got a warrant to search her iPhone and laptop and found child pornography in the devices. She was released from jail after she posted a ten thousand dollar cash bond. She pleaded guilty to the charges in May this year.

Wickelhaus came to spotlight during her time on the second season of MTV’s ’16 & Pregnant’ in 2010, which documented her journey after she became pregnant by her ex-boyfriend at the age of 17. In the show, she places her son, Aidan, for adoption.

In an interview in 2012, she spoke about her struggle with depression following the adoption.

“Before I got here I was on a downward spiral. I had no dreams, I didn’t have any goals, I didn’t care what happened day-to-day. I’d wake up and go right back to bed. There was nothing to get up and work for. Now I have everything to work for. After my pregnancy, I hit a rough spot. I couldn’t really get over that I had done an open adoption with my son. I wasn’t working. I quit going to school. I knew I needed a change,” she said.

“I see a good career. A family, a nice house and a couple of animals. I really have a big dream for myself so I plan on reaching it,” she added.
