The 28th Screen Actors Guild Awards nominations were announced on Wednesday by Rosario Dawson and Vanessa Hudgens on Wednesday, with ‘House of Gucci’ and “The Power of the Dog’ leading the way with three nods each.

Many big names from the film and television industries were nominated, however, what caught people’s attention was that a few actors who acted in the same movie/series were nominated in the same category. Let’s take a look at 5 costars who will be competing in the same category at the 28th Screen Actors Guild Awards – 

1. Jason Sudeikis and Brett Goldstein

The costars were nominated for outstanding performance by a male actor in a comedy series for their roles in the series Ted Lasso. While Sudeikis received the nod for the portrayal of the titular character, Goldstein was nominated for his role as Roy Kent.

2. Kate Winslet and Jean Smart 

The actors have been nominated for outstanding performance by a female actor in
a limited series or television movie for their roles in HBO
Max’s Mare of Easttown. Smart plays Winslet’s mother in the crime drama.

3. Steve Martin and Martin Short

The actors will be competing against each other for outstanding performance by a male actor in a comedy series for their roles in the mystery-comedy television series Only Murders in the Building.

4. Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston

The co-stars have been nominated in the category of outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series for ‘The Morning Show’ in which they play news anchors. 

5. Kieran Culkin, Jeremy Strong and Brian Cox

All three have been nominated for outstanding performance by a male actor in a drama series for their roles in the American drama television series Succession.
