Actor Jonathan Majors, star of Creed III and Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, has been arrested on charges of strangulation, assault and harassment in New York.

Majors starred in the critically acclaimed HBO series Lovecraft Country, which follows a group of African American characters as they navigate racism and supernatural forces in the 1950s. Majors plays Atticus Freeman, a Korean War veteran who embarks on a dangerous journey to find his missing father.

Majors also appeared in Spike Lee’s 2020 Netflix film Da 5 Bloods, which explores the experiences of four African American Vietnam War veterans who return to the country to find the remains of their fallen squad leader and a stash of gold. Majors played the role of David, the son of one of the veterans.

Majors played Johnny Curry, a Detroit drug lord, in the 2018 crime drama White Boy Rick. The movie is based on the true story of Richard Wershe Jr., who became an FBI informant as a teenager and was later convicted of drug trafficking.
