American actor Tony Sirico has passed away at the age of 79. His death was announced by his brother, Robert Sirico, in a Facebook post.

The Sopranos 

It is a legendary American crime drama series that was created by David Chase. Tony Sirico had played the role of an impeccably groomed mobster Paulie Walnuts. The first season of The Sopranos aired in 1999 and it became immensely popular and after that there were four other seasons till 2004. Tony Sirico’s character in the series was extremely appreciated. He originally auditioned for the role of Uncle Junior but David Chase offered him the role of Paulie Gualtieri. 

Smokin Stogies 

Sirico acted in this 2001 American crime film starring some great actors of all time in Frank Vincent and Joseph Marino. Smokin Stogies became a hit film. The film was about a New York City mobster who goes to Miami to retrieve $1 million worth of smuggled Cuban cigars. Sirico was liked and appreciated for his character in the film. 

Goodfellas 

Directed by Martin Scorsese, Goodfellas was a precursor to the director’s later films like The Departed and The Irishman. It is an adaptation of the non-fiction book “Wiseguy”. Goodfellas has widely been regarded as one of the greatest films ever made in the gangster genre. In the year 2000, the National Film Registry by the United States National Congress selected the film for its preservation. The film has also received numerous accolades and its style has been emulated in various other films and series.

This 2014 American movie starred Tony Sirico as a retired detective. The film received various nominations. The plot of the film revolves around a retired detective played by Tony Sirico who gets pushed into the world of crime after the murder of his young brother. The movie was filmed in the Manhattan borough of New York. 

Gotti 

This 1996 American drama television film is based on the non-fiction book Gotti: Rise and Fall by Jerry Capeci and Gene Mustain. The film aired on HBO and Assante the primary protagonist received an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe nomination in the same year.
