The 96th Annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade kicks off, Thursday, November 24, 2022, at 9 a.m.

The parade route runs from W. 77th Street and Central Park West on Manhattan’s Upper West Side to Macy’s Herald Square on W. 34th Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues.

The 2022 event will feature all the spectacles, including live crowds, performances, floats, balloons and clowns.

Lea Michele and the cast of Broadway’s Funny Girl will headline this year’s parade with an opening number from their musical. Other Broadway shows casts will also perform, including The Lion King, celebrating its 25th year on Broadway.

The parade features performances by Jordin Sparks, Joss Stone, Blanco Brown, Fitz and the Tantrums, Big Time Rush, Dionne Warwick, Gloria Estefan, Paula Abdul, Ziggy Marley, Ballet Hispánico, and many others. The festivities will be concluded by the Radio City Rockettes.

Four giant balloons will be making their parade debut: Stuart, the one-eyed Minion from Despicable Me 2; Bluey, from the hit animated series of the same name; a brand-new Greg (plus cheese!) from Diary of a Wimpy Kid fame; and a new Sinclair’s Dino with a piggybacking baby Apatosaurus.

This year’s notable new floats include Geoffrey’s Dazzling Dance Party from Toys “R” Us, Nickelodeon’s Baby Shark with an underwater seascape, and Supersized Slumber featuring a giant walking bed from the Netflix movie Slumberland.

The three-hour parade will take place in New York City at 9 a.m local time. The parade will be broadcast nationwide for free on NBC and CBS. Telemundo will air this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in Spanish. Other streaming sites include Peacock, Paramount+, and Hulu+ Live TV.
