She-Hulk: Attorney at Law sees Jennifer Walters agree to defend Abomination or Emil Blonsky, a military man-turned-monster after injecting himself with Hulk’s blood. However, the apparent slam dunk case where Blonsky puts up the front of a reformed man goes for a toss when footage emerges of an underground fight between the Abomination and Wong.

This was first seen in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, where the titular character went in search of his sister and lands up in a fight club featuring this epic showdown. The Sorcerer Supreme manages to take down Abomination by opening a portal when the creature throws a punch, effectively turning the punch back onto Abomination and knocking him out.

Wong then takes Abomination back into the high-security prison, where we meet Blonsky next during She Hulk’s interaction.

Jessica Gao, the series creator, explained that this cameo in Shang-Chi was to help set up the story for She-Hulk. It is Walters’ first case heading the superhero division, after her act of heroism and saving judges from Titania- by turning into She-Hulk- got her fired from her job.

The new Disney+ series deviates from the source material in some parts, like how Walters gets the Hulk’s powers. Here, the two get into a car accident thanks to the sudden appearance of a Sakaarian spacecraft. Bruce Banner, played by Mark Ruffalo, bleeds onto Walters’ wound, turning her into the green rage monster, with visibly better anger management.

Another part explained in She-Hulk is how Bruce Banner remained human after the events of Avengers: Endgame where he was Smart Hulk. This is explained when Banner points to a device on his hand that helps him remain human and control the flashes of rage that turn him into the Hulk.

The She-Hulk series builds out the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the second episode seeing Banner depart for Sakaar
