‘Two and a Half Men’ actor Ashton Kutcher revealed that ten years ago he was planning to be amongst the first people to ride on Virgin Galactic’s private spaceship. He bought a ticket but had to sell it back to Richard Branson’s company after his wife Mila Kunis encouraged him not to. 

British entrepreneur Richard Branson and five other Virgin Galactic employees -Sirisha Bandla, Beth Moses and Colin Bennett and pilots Dave Mackay and Michael Masucci- on Sunday took the first fully crewed space flight.  They travelled to the edge of space on the SpaceShipTwo, a winged plane with a single rocket motor. The company spent nearly two decades developing it.

Kutcher, 43, said that he changed his mind after having children with Mila Kunis.

“When I got married and had kids, my wife basically encouraged (me) that it was not a smart family decision to be heading into space when we have young children. So I ended up selling my ticket back to Virgin Galactic,” Kutcher toldCheddar News in an interview on Thursday.

“I was supposed to be on the next flight, but I will not be on the next flight,” he added.

Virgin Galactic plans to conduct one more test flight before it begins flying paying customers. The company has sold tickets, ranging from $200,000 to $250,000, to more than 600 people, CNN reports. 

Kutcher bought the ticket in 2012, the 500th person to do so, CNN attributes to Branson’s blog at the time. However, the actor still plans to go to space.

“At some point, I’m going to space,” he said.

Ashton Kutcher and Mia Kunis married in 2015 and have two children. The duo worked together in the comedy TV series ‘That ’70s Show’.
