Hollywood actor Brendan Fraser, who shot to fame with box-office blockbusters ‘George of the Jungle’ and ‘The Mummy’ trilogy, made a rare public appearance.
The 52-year-old walked on the red carpet for the premier of his film ‘No Sudden
Moves’, directed by Steven Soderbergh and co-starring Benicio del Toro, Jon
Hamm and Don Cheadle, and his drastic weight gain got the internet abuzz.

The Canadian-American actor looks very different from the turn of the
century, when he was one of the most in-demand actors. However, he has since
fallen off the radar, and has claimed he was “blacklisted” by Hollywood after
being sexually assaulted by a former president of the Hollywood Foreign Press
association.

Fraser opened up about having battled depression, and eventually
retreating from the public spotlight.

Now, with the surfacing of his latest photographs, fans on social media are
hoping he can comeback as a major star.

Fans have also been theorizing about his weight gain, linking it with
his upcoming film “The Whale”, where he reportedly plays a morbidly obese recluse.

Directed by Darren Aronofsky, the film centres around a 270kg teacher who is
slowly eating himself to death following the death of his love and is trying to
reconnect with his estranged daughter.
