An excerpt from a school textbook in Karnataka has been doing rounds on the internet. A page of the textbook displays renowned actor Kunchacko Boban dressed up as a postman.

The 45-year-old actor took to his Instagram handle to encircle and share the image. Captioning the post in Malayalam, the actor wrote a witty remark suggesting he got a government job in Karnataka.

Uploaded a day ago, the post has garnered more than 246,000 likes and over 4,600 comments. One user wrote, “we are proud they selected our handsome guy from Kerala in posters. That shows they didn’t find anyone suitable from there.”

Several internet users added laughing emojis under the post.

Director Midhun Manuel Thomas also took to the comments and wrote, “so how is it going to be? You won’t get leave just when you have got a job. I have started writing the script. Please inbox me Raju’s number when you get time.”

Kunchacko Boban has over 2.6 million followers on Instagram. He often shares shoots, filming, and pictures of his family on the platform.

The photograph is from the actor’s 2010 comedy flick, ‘Oridathoru Postman’. Boban portrayed the character of the son of a lousy village postman.

Reacting to the viral image, the Karnataka Text Book Society (KTBS) wrote, “Following media reports, we have verified all the textbooks published by us. None of the textbooks published by us has the image of a Malayalam actor.”

Kunchacko Boban rose to prominence with his lead role in the 1997 Malayalam romance drama film, ‘Aniyathipravu’. Boban has acted in over 90 films throughout his career. He comes from a lineage of filmmakers and producers.

On the work front, Boban last starred in the 2021 comedy film, ‘Bheemante Vazhi’. Currently, the actor is working on various projects including ‘Pada’, ‘Rendagam’, ‘Pakalum Paathiraavan’, and ‘Ariyippu’.
