Black Panther actor Letitia Wright was hospitalised after sustaining minor injuries in Boston while shooting for ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,’ the second upcoming installment of Marvel’s Black Panther. According to Wright’s team, she is receiving care in the medical facility and is expected to be discharged soon.

A Marvel spokesperson said in a statement that the incident happened while filming a stunt for the sequel. Wright is expected to be released from the hospital soon.

 Wright is reprising her role as Shuri in the second part as well. The 27-year-old actor was a breakout in the first film as the science-minded sister of the late Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa. The movie is being directed by Ryan Coogler. ‘

Wright also appeared in the MCU team-up films Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame.’

‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,’ is expected to be released on July 8, 2022.

The shooting of the second part of Black Panther began in June 2021. However, the makers have been tight-lipped on the full plot and cast of the movie despite humongous social media buzz.

Though, the major cast members Danai Gurira, Daniel Kaluuya, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o, Florence Kasumba, and Angela Bassett are likely to return for the sequel to the Oscar-nominated film.

It was also announced last week that Dominique Thorne will also be a part of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Thorne will essay the role of a new superhero “Ironheart’ in her own Disney Plus TV series. This is the actor’s television debut.

Black Panther, which starred late legendary actor Chadwick Aaron Boseman in the titular role, was released in 2018. The movie is based on the Marvel comic character ‘Black Panther’. Boseman, who died of colon cancer in 2020 gained global recognition for his work in the movie. 

Black Panther was the first Marvel Studios film with a Black director and a predominantly Black cast.
