Actor-comedian Mindy Kaling announced she had a baby boy on September 3.

Kaling, who extremely values the privacy of her personal life, made the surprise announcement on Thursday on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert”.

Named Spencer, he is Kaling’s second child, along with her 2-year-old daughter Katherine.

In these torrid situations around the globe, ‘The Mindy Project’ star said she didn’t want to go out of her way to publicize her pregnancy.

In her usual quirky way, Kaling told Colbert, “saying ‘my daughter’ feels contemporary and of the moment. But saying ‘a son’ feels so old-timey.”

However, Kaling’s daughter’s reaction to having a baby brother on the way wasn’t the most exciting. She was “very ambivalent at first, I would say, to be generous. She was really worried about her toys getting taken.”

But after realizing the little infant couldn’t take her toys, the little girl was delighted, Kaling added.

“She’s a huge fan, now that she’s met him,” the 41-year-old said.

Kaling has taken a conscious decision of not identifying her baby’s father. ‘The Office’ co-actor and co-writer BJ Novak is the godfather to both of Kaling’s children.

Recently, Kaling produced the Netflix series ‘Never Have I Ever’ revolving around the story of an Indian-American high school student.

Next up, the actor is set to collaborate with Priyanka Chopra on an upcoming wedding comedy.
