Television actor Mohsin Khan has been a part of the famous Indian TV series ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ for five years. He plays the role of Kartik Goenka in the series, which is the longest-running daily soap on Indian television.

According to reports in some sections of the media, Mohsin, who is loved by the audience, has decided to quit the show and move on. He now wants to try other mediums after spending a long time with the series. While an official confirmation is yet to be made, a source privy with the matter said, “Yes Mohsin is planning to move on.”

According to the source, Mohsin has planned to make the move after the show suggested changes in the storyline.

“Since the show is going in for a generation leap, he wouldn’t want to play an older character. So he decided to take a short break. Along with television, he would now want to try out different mediums like OTT and movies.”

As per a Times of India report, there is no bad blood between him and the production house. “It’s all amicable between him and the production house. Mohsin has always considered producer Rajan Shahi his mentor and guide and he too has spoken highly about Mohsin in his interviews,” the source added.

The show, which began in January 2009, has interesting plot twists lined up in the coming days, media reports suggest. For the time being, Mohsin will continue to be part of the daily soap. “He is likely to be a part of the show for sone more tine after which his exit will be planned,” TOI quoted the source as saying.

‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ has completed 12 years. The show, over the years, has witnessed a number of twists and turns that have managed to keep the audience glued to their TV screens.
