‘Good Will Hunting’ co-stars and co-writers Ben Affleck and Matt Damon came together to honor Breonna Taylor amidst the Black Lives Matter protests. An Emergency Medical worker, Breonna was killed by Louisville police who entered her home without a warrant and shot her at least eight times.
While Matt came with two of his kids – Isabella, 13, and Gia, 11, wife Luciana Barroso and a relative, Ben was accompanied by ex-wife Jennifer Garner and kids Samuel, seven, and Violet, 14. They joined hundreds of others, walking through downtown Los Angeles, holding bouquets of roses. They left the flowers in front of the Hall of Justice and later joined a Black Lives Matter protest in the area.
Celebs have also taken on social media to remember and honor Taylor who would have turned 27 this year. Artists like Beyonce Knowles, Cardi B and Andy Cohen posted emotional messages.
Cardi B posted a photo of Taylor and said, “Her story it’s so sad and unfair and it almost didn’t get picked up by the media. Kentucky police department really tried to sweep her case under the rug, but got is BIG. The fight ain’t over till you get justice.”
This comes in wake of widespread protests in the United States following the death of George Floyd by the Minneapolis Police. Like George, Breonna, an African American was a victim of police brutality when the officers executed a no-knock search warrant in her Kentucky house. Following the incident, one of the officers involved have been fired and the other two are on administrative leave.
