In the latest interview with Film Companion’s Sneha Menon Desai, Yashraj Mukhate, a music composer and the creator of viral video ‘Rasode Mein Kon Tha’ spoke about his Instagram DMs, family situations and future plans.

“After years of hard work put into my work as a content creator, I finally got recognition and that’s too in just a minute,” Mukhate told Desai.

He revealed that he had no plans to make another video after ‘Rasode Mein Kon Tha’. However, as the video went viral, Mukhate had to create similar content for his audience. The next thing he knew, he was scrolling through his old content to produce something new out of it.

Mukhate’s comical twist on the hilariously exaggerated lines from Kokilaben – a fictional character from the 2010 TV series ‘Saath Nibhana Saathiya’ – took the internet by storm a month ago.

Talking about his 10-year journey as a not-so-successful artist, Mukhate said, “I knew someone told me years ago that if you just keep on putting good content, someday if one content goes [viral] all of your other content will work”.

24-year-old Mukhate currently resides in Aurangabad with his family.

Asked about the reaction of his family members Mukhate said, “Now Suddenly relatives are calling them [family] saying that I watched Yash on my WhatsApp group.”

“I am trying to keep them a little away from these things because I feel they can’t handle something negative in future,” he added.

Chit-chatting about his future plans Mukhate told Desai that he currently doesn’t have any plans and everything depends on future opportunities.

“I don’t think I have to shift Bombay. But if I have to meet people, I will just go and come back. I am okay with doing that because the kind of mental space I get here [Aurangabad] and the comfort I am in here, I can create better stuff here.”

Mukhate also disclosed that many celebrities have contacted him after watching the video. The most famous ones are Anurag Kashyap, Anil Kapoor, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Sanya Malhotra. “I feel it’s surreal,” he said.

The music composer has recently surpassed one million followers on Instagram with more than 11 million views on his viral video.
