Actors Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, who became parents to a baby girl on November 6 have revealed their daughter’s name on social media.
Bhatt posted a picture of the two on her Instagram with a caption that revealed who named the baby.

“The name Raha (chosen by her wise and wonderful Dadi) has so many beautiful meanings,” she wrote referring to Neetu Kapoor.
“Raha, in its purest form means divine path, in Swahili she is Joy, In Sanskrit, Raha is a clan, In Bangla – rest, comfort, relief,in Arabic peace, it also means happiness, freedom & bliss. And true to her name, from the first moment we held her – we felt it ALL!”
“Thank you Raha, for bringing our family to life, it feels as though our lives have only just begun,” she wrote in the caption.

Talking about how she and Kapoor will manage hectic work schedules after Raha’s birth, Alia said in an interview with CNBC – “I think the journey of discovery will begin once the baby comes. Definitely the intention is to share, as that’s most important. Ranbir is very happy. He said, ‘Baby you work from this month, so I’ll take time off, and then I come back, and you take time off.’ We just keep taking time off. He is very happy to share that responsibility. He recently said in an interview that he has a ‘big responsibility on his head, and that is to send me (Alia) back to work as the movies will complain if I don’t do my bit as the parent.”
Alia and Ranbir met on the set of Ayan Mukerji’s upcoming film Brahmastra. In 2018, the two made their first public appearance together at Sonam Kapoor’s wedding reception.
This year, Alia Bhatt launched her Ed-a-Mamma brand, which specialises in maternity wear. Starting next year, the actress plans to expand her kidswear brand, which she launched in 2020, to countries such as the UAE and Europe.

On the work front, Alia Bhatt will soon be seen alongside Ranveer Singh in Karan Johar‘s Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. Heart of Stone, her Hollywood debut, was also shot by the actress. She will also appear in Jee Le Zaraa alongside Katrina Kaif and Priyanka Chopra. Ranbir Kapoor, on the other hand, will star in Animal alongside Rashmika Mandanna. The actor is also working on an untitled film with Shraddha Kapoor.
