The Flash starring Ezra Miller has borne the brunt of controversy with the 29-year-old actor facing a series of charges. However, against all odds, the DC Extended Universe and parent company Warner Bros Discovery have kept the project alive.

The film is slated to be released in 2023 and a recent test screening reportedly saw The Flash earn the highest test-score ratings in DCEU history. The news was reported by Jordan Ruimy via World of Reel, where the film critic and journalist quoted a source saying The Flash is “Humorous, thrilling and emotional”.

He also shared details of the movie including the many DC characters that will appear in Ezra Miller’s forthcoming film about the speedster.

The many versions of Batman

Michael Keaton is making a grand reappearance as Batman, after having played the Caped Crusader in the first movie about the DC Comics detective and superhero. He is said to have a major part in the film.

Despite Ben Affleck hanging up the cape and making an exit from DCEU, he appears in The Flash as Batman. Affleck’s Batman saw a more brawny side of the superhero and the actor is also slated to appear in the upcoming Shazam and Aquaman sequels.

Adam West also reportedly makes an appearance, having played the masked vigilante in the long-running ABC series.

The Wonder Women

Gal Gadot reprises her role as Wonder Woman but the upcoming movie will reportedly see Lynda Carter play a version of the Amazonian as well.

Carter famously popped up in the post-credits scene of Wonder Woman 1984, and plays Asteria, in that movie.

Aquaman

Jason Momoa is slated to appear as Aquaman in the upcoming Flash movie.

Superman, but from the past

There are reports of a CGI version of Christopher Reeves’ Superman making an appearance in the Flash movie.

Supergirl, but from the past

Helen Slater will reportedly return as Supergirl, Superman’s niece in the upcoming Flash movie.

The reason so many characters from the past appear is because of Flash’s desire to change the past and bring back his mother, who’d been killed, accidentally upsetting the space-time continuum.
