Amazon Prime Video has launched a new feature that allows users to create Netflix-like user profiles. Netflix allows users to create multiple profiles and target recommendations based on their viewing history, rather than the viewing history of all the users.

The same is being unveiled by Amazon Prime Video, which will now allow users to create up to six profiles. This will include designated ‘Kids’ profiles, that will show age-appropriate content in search results and recommendations. Also, viewers on the ‘Kids’ profile will not be able to make purchases.

The multiple profiles feature will allow users to keep tabs of their progress through seasons. Thus, each family member could be at different points on the same show, will now be able to resume watching with a single tap.

Each profile will be able to earmark the shows and films they want to watch.

So, here are the steps you need to follow to set up your user profile on Amazon Prime Video:

1. On your Amazon home page, click ‘Prime Video’ in the top bar.

2. Click the drop-down menu in the upper right next to your name to bring up the account list.

3. Click on ‘Add New’.

4. Enter name and if it’s a kid’s account, select that option.

That’s it! This way, you’ll be able to create as many as six user profiles.

Although this feature was already available in a few countries, Amazon has now rolled out this feature worldwide.
