Amazon Prime Video Original ‘Tandav’ will be having
modifications implemented in the midst the ongoing controversy, the cast and
crew of the series said on Tuesday, PTI reported.
The show, featuring Bollywood actors Saif Ali Khan,
Dimple Kapadia and Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, began streaming last week but soon
landed in a mess of a situation, as several objections came flying towards its
depiction of Hindu deities.

The entire issue revolves essentially around a scene
with Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, in the role of college student Shiva, who plays the
role of Mahadev in a theatre production.
The team behind the political thriller have acknowledged
that they have no intention of hurting anyone’s sentiments.
“We have utmost respect for the sentiments of
the people of our country. We did not intend to hurt or offend the sentiments
of any individual, caste, community, race, religion or religious beliefs or
insult or outrage any institution, political party or person, living or dead. The cast & crew of ‘Tandav’ have made the decision to implement
changes to the web series to address the concerns raised towards the
same,” the official statement from the makers read.

The statement further thanked the Ministry of
Information and Broadcasting for its assistance in the matter.
