Bollywood star Amitabh Bachchan announced on Tuesday that he tested COVID-positive. The 79-year-old shared the news on Twitter, saying anyone in contact should get tested immediately. 

“I have just tested CoViD + positive.. all those that have been in my vicinity and around me, please get yourself checked and tested also…”, Bachchan said. 

The star had previously tested positive for COVID in July 2020, along with his son Abhishek Bachchan, daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and granddaughter Aaradhya Bachchan.

Bachchan is currently hosting the 14th edition of Kaun Banega Crorepati and will next be seen in Ayan Mukherji’s anticipated epic Brahmastra Part One: Shiva. The actor also has other films in the pipeline, including Goodbye, UUnchai, and Project K. 

The actor’s recent diagnosis caused several fans to wonder about the quiz show with one asking if KBC TRPs are okay. 

Another fan asked, “So will you be on KBC?” 

Another individual wished Bachchan a speedy recovery, saying “Now Who host KBC 2022, we waiting for u in new session of KBC, Get health and wealthy soon”. 

Bachchan was asked to take “good care” of himself, by an individual who continued, “So what happens to KBC for a week+ now?” 

A Twitter user, replying to Bachchan’s tweet, said “Quarantine time again. Knowing you, will bounce back but from now on you will have to take extra precautions. On the set of KBC ,No shake hands no hugs and social distancing please. Wishing you very speedy recovery”. 

Several others pointed out that the KBC shooting would be halted, while another said Bachchan should take care of his health and fans would wait for him for KBC. “What will happen to KBC ?”, an individual on Twitter asked.

However, KBC episodes are usually filmed in advance, which is why Bachchan’s COVID isn’t likely to halt the progress of Season 14.
