A bench of Justices SS Shinde and NJ Jamadar quashed the two FIRs which were registered by the Bandra police, after Sahil’s lawyer and Ayesha told the court that they had settled the dispute between them amicably.

In an interview with ETimes, Ayesha said that “It was an out-of-court settlement.”

“But let me tell you I withdrew the cases 5 years ago. It has come to light only now simply because the quashing happened today. There’s a procedure that was meant to be followed after the withdrawal of the complaint and that took time.”

When asked if there was any money transaction involved in the settlement, Ayesha said that she can neither dwell on that nor on the reasons why she took the step of withdrawing what she had earlier filed because, “There’s an MOU (Memorandum Of Understanding) signed between the two parties which forbids from these things to be let out”, reports ETimes.

The bench accepted statements of both the parties and quashed the two FIRs, noting that the case seemed to have arisen out of a ‘business dispute’. It, however, imposed a cost of Rs 1 lakh on Khan and said the money will go to the Maharashtra child welfare committee for the “welfare of children under the state’s care”.
