Ananya Panday recently stated in an interview that she hopes there are no more remakes in Bollywood. The actor also discussed the recent trend of remaking popular South films.

Ananya Panday is currently basking in the success of her most recent release, Gehraiyaan. The film, which was released on Amazon Prime Video last month, was well-received by critics despite receiving mixed reviews from viewers. Ananya has already worked in one remake in her short career – Pati, Patni Aur Woh – but the actor hopes that is the end of her remakes for the time being. In a recent interview, the actor stated that she hopes the trend of Bollywood remakes dies out.

In a recent interaction, Ananya expressed a desire to do more new work and to pursue a path with more original, fresh content for the audience. She stated that she was no longer sure how she felt about remakes.

In an interview with ETimes, Ananya stated, “I’m hoping we don’t have to do any more remakes. This makes me very happy. This path we’re taking, where we’re telling a more original, braver, and complex story. So I’m in that phase where I don’t want to see any more remakes.”

The actor also commented on the trend of Bollywood filmmakers remaking stories from the South, saying, “I believe they understand exactly what their target audience desires. They also work with different types of magic. I’m not sure how I feel about remakes any longer.”

Ananya is currently working on Puri Jagannadh’s Liger, a film starring Vijay Deverakonda and former world champion boxer Mike Tyson. Ananya and Vijay were recently seen laughing and joking at film producer Apoorva Mehta’s birthday party in Mumbai on Thursday night.

Ananya is currently filming for Zoya Akhtar‘s Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, in which she co-stars with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Adarsh Gourav.
