Andor is proving to be a unique look into the workings of the Star Wars universe. While the first three episodes of the series delved into the backstory of Cassian Andor and show us how he came to be associated with the Rebel Alliance, the fourth episode takes us further into the lives of some of the biggest names of the Alliance and show us Andor’s first operation as a member of same.

Here we meet Mon Mothma, who is serving as a senator and has not yet become the leader of the Rebel Alliance as we have known her in the Star Wars canon. We see how a small six-people faction of the Alliance is trying to steal the payroll of an Imperial facility.

Since the series tells us about Andor’s life five years before the events of Rogue One, here we get to see how the Rebel Alliance is slowly taking shape through the courage and determination of some foot-soldiers.

That is what best sums up what Andor has been till now- a story of a rebellion’s spies and soldiers who risk their everything to spark a fire, but are not remembered by the multitude whom they helped become free. Their sacrifice is overshadowed by the hero worship of their leaders.

As the series slowly gathers momentum, we can expect Andor to get more involved with Rebel Alliance characters as he ultimately becomes a rebel hero himself. What we can expect in the fifth episode and the series as a whole, is a lot more than just Cassian Andor’s story. He is ultimately just a peg in the greater scheme of things, and the makers have wasted no time in delving into the macroscopic picture of the Star Wars universe right after the first three introductory episodes.
