Andor, the latest TV series from the Star Wars franchise, has proved to be a major shift from the space opera genre. This series is grittier and murkier than what we tend to expect from Star Wars products. We see here how intergalactic warfare, dictatorship, and an uprising tend to affect the lives of some of the most ordinary citizens of this universe.

Despite this shift in tonality, we must not forget that Andor is an integral part of the Star Wars canon and does contain numerous references to events and objects that have been featured in other movies, shows, and games belonging to the universe.

Here we break down some of the most striking Easter eggs that can be found in the first three episodes of the series:

Wall-E

When we meet Maarva Andor’s droid, B2EMO, for the first time, the small talking machine is seen traversing through the heaps of scrap and junk on the planet Ferrix, which is a striking resemblance to how we first meet Wall-E, the waste-cleaning robot from the similarly titled Pixar Animation production. Despite not being in the Star Wars universe, this is an interesting Easter egg for Disney fans.

Dawn and light

Throughout the Star Wars universe, light and dawn acts as a symbol of hope. In The Force Awakens, we hear the famous dialogue, “As long as there is light, we have a chance”. In Andor, the show’s title sequence looks like the sun rising until it slowly reveals the show’s name.

Planet Fest

Andor tells everyone he is from planet Fest. This planet was also referred to in the game, Star Wars: Dark Forces, where it is one of the levels.

Y-wing ship

While Andor is looking for a ship to escape in, he comes across a Y-wing ship. This spacecraft, also known as WTK-85A, was also featured in The Force Awakens and The Rise of Skywalker.

Aliens and Corellian hounds

On the planet Ferrix, we see a number of Corellian hounds, which are dog-like but far more intimidating creatures. They had appeared for the first time in the 2018 film, Solo: A Star Wars Story. Other aliens like Aki-Aki, Abednedo, Imroosian, Frigosian, and Urodel, which are Star Wars veterans, also appear in the first three episodes of Andor.
