Rumors have circulated on social media that former Saturday Night Live cast member Pete Davidson and rapper Ice Spice, real name Isis Gaston, are dating.

Before their split in August 2022, Davidson, 29, was in a  relationship with Keeping Up with the Kardashians star Kim Kardashian, 42. The model and podcast host Emily Ratajkowski, who is currently dating Eric Andre, was later seen out on dates with the comic. However, Gaston, 23, is the most recent celebrity to be connected to the comedian.

Over the past few days, there has been a flurry of speculation on Twitter that the two are now courting. More than 4,000 tweets featuring Pete Davidson’s name caused his name to start trending on Twitter, where it eventually reached No. 13 in the United States. Many of those comments also mentioned Ice Spice.

The reports that the renowned couple were romantically involved received a swift response from many social media users.

Fans will be disappointed to learn that Davidson and Ice Spice are not in a relationship. The meme account @itsfinisher shared a side-by-side photo of Davidson and Gaston with the headline, “Pete Davidson is now dating NYC rapper Ice Spice,” scrawled across it. This appears to be where the rumour first surfaced.

In the caption of the image, the account acknowledged that it was satirical and that it was made “only for entertainment reasons.”

Social media users’ reactions were varied when they learned that the story was false.

One person shared a scene from the Will Smith film The Pursuit of Happyness in which the actor tears up while revelling in the street.

Shortly after Davidson’s ex, Kardashian, uploaded a cute TikTok video of her and her oldest daughter North West lip-syncing to one of Ice Spice’s songs, rumours about Davidson and Ice Spice began to circulate.

The mother-daughter team used Ice Spice’s latest collaboration with PinkPantheress, “Boy’s a liar Pt. 2,” as the soundtrack to their post in the 15-second clip, which was uploaded earlier in February.

It’s believed that Davidson is dating Chase Sui Moto.

The two have shared numerous public appearances together in recent months, including a Hawaii getaway in January and a kiss at the Daytona 500 in early February.

Wonders is a 26-year-old actress best known for her role in the 2022 horror comedy Bodies, Bodies, Bodies, in which Davidson also appeared.
