The interview also covered Schwarznegger’s casting process, where he was prohibited from reading the scripts of his show before he was officially cast. He remarked, “They were just like, ‘It’s about this. This is the character. This is what’s going to happen in this.” He called the series “amazing” and proceeded to reveal that he figured his role was “something crazy”.

“The Boys” is a franchise that involves a parallel universe where the ulterior motives of superheroes are exposed. Derived from the comic book of the same name, the show depicts the true nature of these superheroes and the corporation they are owned by, which works to commodify and promote them to the general public. The Boys consist of a group attempting to challenge the superheroes and the company’s position of authority.

Schwarznegger continued to say that the set was comical and “fun”. “It’s kind of like ‘Euphoria’ meets superheroes.””
