One such song was ‘Aaja Aaja Main Hoon Pyar Tera’ from the 1966 film Teesri Manzil that was sung by Asha Bhosle and Mohammed Rafi. After enjoying the performance, the singer shared a story behind the song.

Asha Bhosle revealed that she was very nervous about the song and wasn’t sure if she would get the notes right. So before the recording, she went to her sister, the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar‘s room.

“Humari Lata Didi ne kaha ‘Kya baat hai kyu chatpata rahi ho?'” (“My Lata Didi asked me ‘what is the matter, why are you nervous?’”) Asha Bhosle said while imitating the iconic singer.

“Maine kaha ‘didi ek gaana hai aur gaane me pata nahi kya hoga, Mujhe dar lag raha hai,’” (I said I was nervous and was not sure how the recording would go) she said.

To this Lata Mangeshkar told her, “tum bhool rahi ho. Tum Mangeshkar pehle ho, baad me Bhosle ho. Jao tumhara gaana acha hoga,” (You are forgetting that you are a Mangeshkar first and a Bhosle later. Just go, your song will be good) Asha Bhosle revealed.

The promo clip was shared by Sony TV.
