Crash Landing on You (2019)

Starring Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin, this drama is about an unusual love story between a South Korean heiress to the Queen’s Group Yoon Se-ri and a North Korean military Captain Ri Jeong-hyuk. Yoon Se-ri lands in the demilitarized zone of the North Korean territory due to a paragliding accident. The drama traces her journey in North Korea and her attempts to return home without being noticed by the North Korean authorities.

Descendants of the Sun (2016)

Another military-themed K-Drama starring Song Joong-ki, Song Hye-Kyo, Ji Goo and Kim Ji-won in the lead roles. Special force officer Yoo Shi-jin (Joong-ki), and doctor Kang Mo-Yeon (Song Hye-ko) fall in love after a chance meeting at the hospital. The couple drifts apart due to Shi-jin’s secret work life. But fate has other plans for them when the two meet in a war-torn foreign country.

Guardian: The Lonely and the Great God (2016)

Popularly known as Goblin, this show is about Kim Shin, a Goblin (Gong Yoo) who is searching for his bride for nearly 1000 years to break his immortal curse. He then meets the grim reaper, Wang Yeo (Lee Dong-Wook) and a school student, Ji Eun-Tak (Lee Go-Eun) who might be the bride he was searching for. The show also has Yoo In-Ah as Sunny, an unsuccessful restaurant owner who hires Eun-Tak for a part-time job.

Vincenzo (2021)

One of the most talked-about dramas this year, Vincenzo stars Song Joong-Ki as Korean-Italian mafia lawyer Vincenzo Cassano, Jeon Yeo-Been as lawyer Hong Cha-Young and Ok Taec-Yeon as Jung Jun-Woo in the lead roles. The story revolves around Vincenzo’s return to South Korea to fetch a treasure of gold hidden by a Chinese businessman. In South Korea, he gets involved with the residents of Geumga Plaza where the gold is hidden and Babel Group.
