The BET Awards ceremony’s full lineup including 27 performers and 25 presenters were finalised on Friday. Jack Harlow, Lizzo, and Chance The Rapper are among those scheduled to perform (June 24).
Sean “Diddy” Combs, who will receive this year’s BET Lifetime Achievement Award, will be honoured with a tribute including ten of those musicians. Combs will perform live, alongside with Mary J. Blige, Nas, Lil’ Kim, Busta Rhymes, Jodeci, and other artists.
On the mainstage of the ceremony, 15 musicians will sing songs, including Lil Wayne, who has won the BET Award 11 times, Kirk Franklin, who has won the award five times, and Givon and Roddy Ricch, who have each won the award once. Chlöe, Doechii, Ella Mai, and Muni Long complete the lineup, which also includes Latto, Joey Bada$$, Babyface, and Fireboy DML.
On the BET Amplified Stage, which showcases up-and-coming performers, GoGo Morrow and OGI will play.
Black superstars of contemporary pop culture like Daniel Kaluuya, Idris Elba, Janelle Monáe, Keke Palmer, Ray J, and Ne-Yo are among the list of presenters. The programme, which airs live on BET tomorrow at 8 p.m. ET, will be hosted by Taraji P. Henson (June 26)
The event will be broadcast simultaneously on BET Her, Comedy Central, Logo, MTV, MTV2, Pop, TV Land, and VH1 in addition to BET Africa, BET France, and BET Pluto in other countries (for the UK and Brazil). Sky On-Demand and My5 will both have access for UK viewers.
With nominations for six trophies, Doja Cat is the most nominated artist for the 2022 BET Awards. With four nominations each, Ari Lennox and Drake are close behind her, while 11 other musicians, including Chlöe and Mary J. Blige, are in third place. Baby Keem, Silk Sonic, Future, Kanye West, H.E.R., Jazmine Sullivan, Kendrick Lamar, Tems, and Lil Baby are the other nine artists to receive a nod for a trio.
