Bhediya, featuring Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, expands Maddock Films’ universe of horror comedies. The trailer for the film was released on Wednesday, in the presence of the stars and director Amar Kaushik, to commemorate Varun’s tenth year in Bollywood. The actor made his film debut in 2012 with Student of the Year.

Varun and Kriti discussed their Bhediya looks ahead of the film’s trailer release. Bhediya is billed as a ‘creature comedy,’ with Varun playing a werewolf and Kriti playing a doctor. The trailer portrays the film as a superhero origin story.

Varun’s character wonders why the werewolf chose to bite him, and Kriti’s character says that since he’s been chosen, he has the obligation to use his powers for good. Some of these abilities include hearing low tones and preferring foul odours to perfume. Varun’s CGI-assisted transition into the monster is also teased in the trailer, which concludes with a remake of the renowned “Jungle Jungle Baat Chali Hai” song from the cartoon Jungle Book series. In addition, the film presents the rest of the cast, which includes Abhishek Banerjee and Deepak Dobriyal.

Kriti Sanon appears in the poster with short hair as Dr Anika. She is also seen holding a gun which is used to vaccinate animals.

The film’s trailer has received a lot of praise for its visual effects. The Amar Kaushik-directed film, which stars Hollywood’s premier effects studio Mr. X, is said to have exquisite visual effects.
