Reviews of Burr’s participation in the Boston Red Sox broadcast during their game against the Minnesota Twins have been overwhelmingly good. An earlier video of Bill entering the studio with him exuberantly stating in his Boston accent, according to NESN’s Twitter feed, was posted.

“Let’s do it. I am keeping track.”
In one of the early clips, Burr made fun of the growing popularity of baseball’s “analytics” during the previous ten or so years by posing a statistical question and remarking:
“There’s gotta be some nerd here with a laptop that could give us an answer.”

Perhaps the Boston Red Sox are right after all.
Baseball has trouble attracting younger audiences and obtaining good ratings? Put a comedian or other famous person in the broadcast booth for the whole game, and watch the audience numbers soar.
Twitter users are thrilled that Bill Burr is the third guy in the broadcast booth and they are hopeful that his appearances become more often. This is true of both Red Sox fans and casual sports viewers.
