Recently Michaela Coel joined the cast of Black Panther:
Wakanda Forever
, the sequel to the hit Marvel film “Black Panther.” The
production for the same began last month itself. Coel has worked in the HBO Max
series “I May Destroy You.” She also received four Emmy nominations
for her work on the show earlier this month.

Apart from that, Coel’s other credits include the Netflix
programs “Black Mirror” and “Chewing Gum,” and feature
films like “Been So Long” and “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” Her
exceptional work in the movies and shows must have inspired Ryan Coogler and
the Marvel filmmakers to bring her aboard one of the studio’s most beloved
properties.

Marvel Studios Chief Kevin Feige told Variety in late June,
he said, “It’s clearly very emotional without Chad.” Chadwick Boseman died last
year in August due to cancer. Further, Kevin added, “But everyone is also very
excited to bring the world of Wakanda back to the public and back to the fans.
We’re going to do it in a way that would make Chad proud.”

Michaela Coel could
be behind a completely different character which we have yet to connect, we’ll
just have to wait to find out about how she’s involved in the much-anticipated
movie.

The cast includes Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright, Daniel
Kaluuya, Winston Duke, Lupita Nyong’o, Florence Kasumba, and Angela Bassett who
will be back for their roles from the original film. “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” will
release on July 8, 2022. The creators of the movie have also decided not to
recast anyone for Chadwick’s role and will honor him in the upcoming movie.
