A video was recently released on social media platform
Twitter for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, hinting at a memorial for King
T’Challa, the character played by the late Chadwick Boseman. He passed away
last year in August. To all the Marvel fans he will always be remembered most
fondly for playing the part of Black Panther in the MCU. Marvel Studios has
confirmed they will not recast his role.

Black Panther’s principal photography officially started in
June 2021. A surprise video was released where a glimpse of the upcoming Marvel
blockbuster offered to show Wakanda’s throne room. The first Black Panther earned
a much-deserved Oscar for production design, and the same love and affection is
being taken with the sequel movie. The set video released may be more
important, if you look closely there are pillars inscribed with words in the
Wakandan language.

It was possible to translate the Wakandian language because
in October last year MCU published an official in-universe book called The
Wakanda
Files. Most interestingly the file includes a Wakandan translation key.
Using this, it’s possible to translate the words on the pillar – and they seem
to point to a new memorial to the late King T’Challa. Although some letters were
obscured by cameras and lights, the inscriptions seem to read:

REST IN POWER

KING T’CHALLA

OUR HERO

(I)T WAS AN HONOR

(WAKA)NDA FOREVER

It shows that the Wakandans are choosing to honor him by
establishing a lasting memorial to their late king as he had an enduring impact
on Wakanda. Black Panther 2 will surely be an emotional experience, both for
those involved in the production and for audiences worldwide. It seems Marvel
Studios is taking it quite seriously to honor their much-missed colleague and
friend.
