K-pop girl group BLACKPINK‘s singer Lisa dropped her first solo single album ‘Lalisa’ on Friday, taking the internet by storm. The 24-year-old released the album after dropping multiple videos teasers over the last few days. The album features two songs, ‘Lalisa‘ and ‘Money’, and their instrumental versions. 

The Thai-born artist is the third member of K-pop group to release a solo album. Jennie was the first member who released her single titled ‘Solo’ in 2018. Rosé became the second member by releasing her ‘project -R-‘ in 2021. Rosé’s album featured ‘On the Ground’ and ‘Gone.’ Jisoo will be the final member of the band to go solo.

Meanwhile, after the release of Lisa’s debut single, her fans praised her for embracing her Thai heritage.

“Can we take the time to appreciate Lisa paying respect to her home country? I love this!” wrote one user.

Posting a clip from the song, another user tweeted, “The scene at the back is Phanom Rung Historical Park which is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Buriram Province—where Lisa was born. The great pride of nation, Blinks [fans of Blackpink] are so proud of you my Queen.”

Prior to the release of the song, Lisa explained she wanted it to “have a Thai feel” and “Thai style” by including elements of her Thai heritage. 

“The set and outfits also capture that Thai vibe well. I really liked the way it turned out. I also wore Thai clothing in the music video. I think the results came out really pretty,” Lisa told Soompi. 

Lisa will perform ‘Lalisa’ on ‘The Tonight Show’ with Jimmy Fallon on Friday. The song has already been viewed over 42,000,000 times since its release.
