The rumors about BLACKPINK becoming the first Korean act as well as the first girl group ever to headline Coachella Music Festival has been confirmed.

BLACKPINK are set to perform as the headliners on April 15 as well as April 22, 2023.

The festival’s official Twitter account has now released the names of all the performers at the event, which will be held across two weekends.

The only other female headliners of the festival include Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Ariana Grande, Bjork, and Billie Eilish.

The festival has acknowledged that most tickets for the first weekend (April 14 to April 16) are over, and people who are now deciding to attend the festival should go for the weekend 2 tickets.

This is not the first time that BLACKPINK will be performing at Coachella. They had earlier performed at the festival in 2019.

BLACKPINK, who are known as “the biggest girl group in the world”, were formed in 2016, and have since then released two full-length studio albums till date- The Album in 2020 and Born Pink in 2022. Peaking at the top of the Billboard 200 chart, the album became the best-selling record ever by a Korean girl group.

The group comprises of four members, namely, Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa. They were named TIME magazine’s Entertainer of the Year in 2022.

The group has also been hailed by former South Korean President Moon Jae-in for their role in spreading Korean culture throughout the world.

Besides BLACKPINK, Bad Bunny and Frank Ocean are the other headliners of Coachella 2023.
