Boardwalk Empire star Michael Pitt was taken into police custody and rushed to a hospital following a very public outburst in New York City, TMZ reported Wednesday.

According to a video obtained by the news website, Pitt was seen strapped to a gurney and surrounded by EMS technicians last Friday. The technicians were seen wheeling the gurney down a sidewalk in Bushwick, Brooklyn, as they waited for an ambulance.

TMZ said that the 41-year-old looked dazed as he lay quietly on the stretcher.

A law enforcement source told TMZ that an unidentified person called 911 to report a male throwing objects at people. Police responded to the scene and took Pitt into custody.

No charges have been filed in the incident so far as it is believed that the person who caused the commotion was an emotionally disturbed man.

Pitt was taken to a local hospital for treatment. However, his current condition remains unknown. It is also not known if anyone was hurt in the incident.
