- Foo Fighters, The Strokes, and Metallica are headlining Boston Calling 2022
- They are replacing Rage Against the Machine and Red Hot Chili Peppers
- The event is from May 27 to May 29
It's time to ship up to Boston, as the Dropkick Murphys suggested in their iconic song since the entire lineup for the Boston Calling 2022 is out. Foo Fighters, The Strokes, and Metallica are headlining the festival, replacing Rage Against the Machine and Red Hot Chili Peppers. The festival will take place at the Harvard Athletic Complex, in Allston from May 27 to May 29, which marks the Memorial Day weekend.
Festival organizers have promised fans that they'll get to hear over 50 performers including the largest assembly of regional artists at the Boston Calling.
CEO Brian Appel spoke of the upcoming event in a press release, saying, "We are so thrilled to bring Boston Calling back, and we cannot thank our loyal fans enough for supporting us as we navigated the pandemic. This year’s line-up is particularly special for us. It not only signifies a return to the things we love, but it also celebrates some of the world’s most renowned acts, exciting up-and-comers, and Boston’s talented music scene."
Los Angeles-based Rage Against the Machine cancelled the first half of their North American tour on Thursday, January 20, while Red Hot Chili Peppers will still make their way to Boston, but on September 10. The band will be performing at Fenway Park.
This year, there is a greater focus than ever to shine a light on regional artists, and to that end, the festival includes sets by Van Buren Records, the rap collective out of Brockton, Cam Meekins, the rapper from Boston, the musician Cliff Notez, and Born Without Bones, the rockers from Milford.
A limited number of tickets are admitted, and they are priced as per the categories. The 3-Day General Admission tickets cost $369.99, while the 3-Day VIP tickets come at $999.99. The 3-Day Platinum tickets have been priced at $1,999.99. There's also a two-pack of 3-Day General Admission tickets, which has a price tag of $699.99.
