Retired boxing legend Mike Tyson is all set to feature in director
Puri Jagannadh’s pan-Indian film ‘Liger’. It features actor Vijay Deverakonda
as the male lead with Ananya Panday starring alongside him. It will be released
in several languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.

Mike Tyson’s role in the film has
been confirmed by Vijay Deverakonda via his official Twitter account. The actor
uploaded a video captioned, “We
promised you Madness! We are just getting started 🙂 For the first time on
Indian Screens. Joining our mass spectacle – #LIGER The Baddest Man on the Planet The God of Boxing The
Legend, the Beast, the Greatest of all Time! IRON MIKE TYSON #NamasteTYSON

The announcement video hints at a clash between Liger
Deverakonda and Iron Mike, however, that can not be confirmed at the moment.

Karan Johar couldn’t contain his enthusiasm either and
tweeted, “For the first time ever, the king of the ring will be seen on the big
screens of Indian cinema! Welcoming @MikeTyson

This will be Tyson’s first appearance on Indian screens and
it is bound to be an exciting one. It has been confirmed that Myke’s role will
be a significant one which will certainly pull his fans towards the theatres.

It is speculated that Tyson will make his appearance just
before the climax and his role will heavily affect the course of the story.

Deverakonda had to undergo a dramatic physical transformation
to perform this role and even went to Thailand for martial arts training. Some high-octane action sequences are being shot under the supervision of stunt choreographer Kecha.

Ramya
Krishna and Ronit Roy will also be featuring in the movie and performing a prominent
role.

The film produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and
Charmme Kaur is presently being filmed on a massive set in Goa.
