‘Bullet Train,’ starring Brad Pitt, will now be released on August 5th instead of July 29th as planned. In that first August weekend slot, Sony is positioning ‘Bullet Train’ as the summer’s final big event film.

The film is based on Ktar Isaka’s novel Maria Beetle and follows a seasoned assassin named Ladybug, portrayed by Pitt, who wishes to stop killing but is drawn back in by his handler, Maria Bettle, played by Sandra Bullock.

David Leitch, who directed ‘John Wick,’ ‘Deadpool 2,’ and ‘Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs & Shaw,’ is the director of this picture.

The film’s cast also includes Joey King, Aaron Taylor Johnson, Andrew Koji, and Sandra Bullock, who replaced Lady Gaga after she dropped out due to tight work schedules.

In a recent interview with Empire, Leitch revealed that much of the film’s action was inspired by Jackie Chan films and that clashes in the film will include “a little bit of physical comedy.”
