Brad William Henke, the actor who became a popular figure after his role as a gay prison guard called Desi Piscatella in the series Orange is The New Black, has died at the age of 56. Henke reportedly died in his sleep, but the official cause of his death has not been revealed yet.

NFL Career

Before his career in films, Henke was a football player, having played for the University of Arizona. He was drafted by the New York Giants in 1989, but was left out of the squad at training camp.

Henke married Katelin Chesna, an actor, in 2001, but the duo parted ways in 2008. He then married Sonja, and is the stepfather to her two children, Aaden and Leasa, from her previous marriage.
