BTS’s eldest member, Kim Seok-Jin aka Jin, has confirmed that he is preparing to enlist for his long-awaited military training. Jin took to Weverse on November 24 to inform his fans, according to reports.

Jin wrote, as translated by Twitter user @btstranslation7, “There’s an article out there that I hadn’t planned on being published.. in any case armys, I ask that you please refrain from coming to the training center. There will be many other people there & it could get dangerous with a big crowd army I love you.”
According to Yonhap, a South Korean news agency, he will enlist on December 13, a week after his 30th birthday on December 4. Jin is expected to enlist at the recruit training center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do. He will be deployed to the frontline unit after a five-week training period, where he will be subjected to an 18-month mandatory training program.

Jin will be discharged on June 13, 2024, exactly 11 years after BTS made their debut in the world of K-pop, according to ARMY calculations. In response to ongoing speculation, BigHit Music has asked fans for patience as they have yet to receive any confirmed dates. In an interview with Newsen, a company spokesperson stated, “We cannot confirm these details at this time. We ask for your understanding.”

The singer recently spoke to his fans about his upcoming birthday and military enlistment. When asked if he was excited for his birthday during a live interaction on Weverse, he replied, “No. I’m right on the front lines.” During another conversation about the same topic, Jin revealed, “I originally planned to enlist in June, but in order to be courteous to fans, I waited until our October performance (in Busan). I didn’t want a tearful performance, so my enlistment announcement was delayed.”
