Will the event be available online?

The event will be streamed live on the Cannes website, as well as the official Facebook page, Twitter, and YouTube channel.

The festival was cancelled in 2020 owing to the epidemic. The event was planned last year, but it was dampened by the stringent restrictions that swept the French Riviera’s most lavish events.

The 2019 festival attracted over 125,000 guests and 12,000 film professionals in the pre-pandemic era. During the event, this resulted in almost 2,200 jobs and 90,000 overnight stays, generating $206 million.

While data for the 2021 edition has not been released, they are expected to be significantly lower than in prior years.

Cannes is often regarded as the world’s most prestigious film festival, owing to its exclusivity and lengthy tradition of presenting some of the finest films ever made. Many well-known directors, including Quentin Tarantino and Steven Soderbergh, made their start at the festival.

Cannes cultivates its image through screening a small number of films, awarding prizes chosen by juries comprised of well-known filmmakers, actors, and composers from around the world, and sustaining the world’s largest film market.
