A pregnant Chanel Iman announced her engagement to Davon Godchaux on Tuesday while vacationing in Capri, Italy.
“The blessings keep pouring,” she wrote as she posted her engagement photos on Instagram. “Grateful for this new chapter and soon to be married and a forever to go.”
She also added that Capri was the “perfect” place for the 28-year-old professional football player to get down on one knee. “I love you so much @chauxdown,” she gushed. “You promised me the world and so far you have given me that and so much more! One of the best gifts in life is a life time of adventures! My soulmate, protector and best friend the best memories are yet to come.”

However, before taking her relationship with Godchaux to the next level, Iman was married to another professional footballer, Sterling Shepard, for four years.

The pair met for the first time in November 2016 at former New York Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz’s birthday party “When I first met him, he was in a suit and looked so sharp,” she told People Magazine in 2017. “I walked up to her and bought her a drink and it was over after that.”
2017
After dating for a year, Shepard proposed to the model a day after her birthday on December 2, 2017. “A night full of tears of happiness,” she captioned the image on Instagram. “I’m beyond excited to spend the rest of my life with you @sterl_shep3 you are my soulmate, my best friend, my everything! Can’t wait to be your Mrs.”

He also shared the news on Instagram writing, “The catch of my dreams. Can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you!”
2018
They got married in March 2018 at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles with a star-studded wedding party. Jourdan Dunn and Odell Beckham were among their bridesmaids and groomsmen.
2018 and 2019
The couple announced the happy news that they were expecting their first child in May of 2018 through a photo shoot that paid tribute to Calvin Klein ads. “Daddy and Mommy can’t wait to meet you,” she wrote on Instagram. “As I approach motherhood I want to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers and mommies to be.” Their daughter, Cali, was born on August 10 of that same year. Their second daughter, Cassie, was born on December 18, 2019.
2019
The couple’s relationship was only growing stronger. In August of 2019, Shepard raved about his wife telling US Weekly, “That woman takes care of me like no one ever has. I mean, the closest thing to [compare it to] is my mom, so I love everything about being married to her. She’s one of a kind.”
He also admitted that he was having difficulties balancing parenting responsibilities with a relationship and his career. “It’s honestly tough whenever you put a baby into the situation because you’ve got to still try to find time for each other and a lot of the focus goes onto the baby,” he said. “So that’s the main thing is just me trying to carve out a little time in my schedule and her trying to carve out time in her schedule because we’re both pretty busy. That’s the toughest thing about it, but we find a way to get through it.”
2020
Rumors of their split began when the model deleted all photos of Shepard from her Instagram page. She was also spotted without her wedding ring.
2021
It was confirmed that Shepard filed for divorce in June of 2021

A source claimed to US Weekly that the couple was getting divorced and “are going to try and remain civil and friendly towards each other.”
